Evening Poem #70
The continents still sit there
on the map, reminders
that even the earth has
its puzzle pieces that used
to fit. How docile Brazil
appears, knowing she belongs
in your crook of shoulder.
And your Ivory Coast, bearing
hurricanes for your loss.
